“Well, that was a lot easier than I thought it would be.” That’s been a familiar quote from my clients as they head home from their headshot session. My approach has always centred on how I can make your experience as simple and stress free as possible. A headshot is one of the most important tools you have as a professional.
Over the years I have often seen talented people miss the critical opportunities that they deserved because of a poor headshot. Your headshot is your calling card and is one of those things that people see first. A strong headshot will help you get your foot in the door.
One of the most important aspects of your headshot is that it must look like you. What I want to achieve with each of my clients is to take the most flattering photo that conveys their personality and spontaneity in an environment that is fun and relaxing.
Your shoot begins with us talking through what you want to achieve. We will go through my portfolio and discuss what looks, environments, and lighting you like the best. Not sure what would work best? That’s okay. I’m happy to guide you through the entire process. My style of shooting does not limit you with a “one look fits all” mentality. Notice the wide variety of images in my portfolio? You and your headshot should never be boxed into a single trademark style of a photographer. You’re unique and your headshot should be too.
When we start shooting, my goal is to make you as unaware of the camera as possible. We can even put on your favourite music if you want (no judgments, I promise) I want our environment to feel as comfortable to you as possible. You want your headshots to convey a laid back and relaxed look. Between listening to your favourite music and our casual conversation, you will not even realize the camera is there.
I promise to bring plenty of bad jokes to get that winning smile. After your shoot, I’ll pick out my favourite images and upload your entire shoot to my website. I’ve built a private social network from the ground up to help you share and choose your photos. The experience is seamless, whether you’re at home on your laptop or at lunch with only your phone. Simple. Once you’ve narrowed down your images, all you need to do is tell me which ones!
